Tune in Monday at 10 pm, or listen to the archived broadcast above, to hear the N.Y. debut of Philippe Cassard and Cedric Pescia at The Frick Collection. The two performed a concert for piano four hands, featuring works by Mozart, Debussy, Brahms and Schubert, plus an encore of Bizet.
The pair have been playing together for the past five years, and Cassard said that they have almost created a special partnership over that time: “It’s not only physically intimate, but what we hear is different. You don’t sit the usual way, you don’t hear the usual way — my left hand with the right hand of Cedric — and the sound ... we have worked so hard to create a sort of third pianist, but we don’t abandon our personality.”
Elliot Forrest hosts the program.
