Pianist Seong-Jin Cho Plays Debussy, Beethoven and Chopin

This week's edition of Midday Masterpieces featured acclaimed South Korean pianist Seong-Jin Cho, who joined us in our studio to perform selections by Debussy, Beethoven and Chopin. The latter is a specialty for Cho; he was the winner of the XVII International Chopin Competition in 2015. The following year saw the release of his album that included his interpretations of Chopin’s Ballades and First Piano Concerto, and his first ever visit to WQXR.

Above, watch him play the fourth movement of Chopin’s Piano Sonata No. 3 in B minor, Op. 58. And if you haven’t already, like our Facebook page so you can receive advance alerts for sessions like these.
